College Creator Masterclass

Build Your Creator Career Before Graduation

A 90-minute working session for UMass-connected college students — creators, streamers, athletes, artists, student leaders, entrepreneurs, and aspiring media professionals. Students leave with a clearer creator direction, one practical next step, and an invitation to join the Founding Creator Lab interest list.

The promise

You do not need to go viral to build a meaningful creator career. You need a point of view, a system you can sustain, good judgment around opportunities, and proof that you can create work people trust. This Masterclass helps students begin building all four.

The framework

Angle → System → Trust → Opportunity

  • Angle — the lens you bring to a community: what you know, what you care about, and the perspective only you can bring.
  • System — a practical rhythm for creating that survives class, work, practice, and real life.
  • Trust — the judgment you show in what you post, what you disclose, and what you say yes to.
  • Opportunity — what opens up when people can see your work and how you think.

Inside the session

  1. Welcome and the real opportunity (0–10)
  2. The creator-career framework (10–22)
  3. Live exercise: find your campus angle (22–37)
  4. Build a system that survives college — the One, One, One System (37–50)
  5. The opportunity reality check: five questions before you say yes (50–63)
  6. Why responsibility is a creator advantage (63–73)
  7. The College Creator Lab invitation (73–82)
  8. Call to action and close (82–90)

Where it leads

The Masterclass is the front door to the College Creator Lab, where students build a creator positioning statement, a four-week content system, a collaboration or community concept, a brand-challenge response, a safety and disclosure toolkit, and a portfolio presented at the Creator Showcase.
